WHITE-WILSON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION CALLS FOR GRANT APPLICATIONS

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — February 15, 2022 — The White-Wilson Community Foundation is currently accepting grant applications for programs effecting health outcomes in the local area. The nonprofit is seeking community partnerships to help increase access to health care for underserved men, women and children in Okaloosa, Walton and Santa Rosa counties.

Grant applications are available on the organization's website, whitewilsoncommunityfoundation.org. The deadline to apply for funds is March 31, 2022.

"The last two year's have shown us just how important it is to take a step back and look at our community's health needs and how we can better serve one another," said Chair of the Board of Directors Teresa Halverson. "As we move forward, we are looking for creative ways to bring much needed health programs to our area. We are seeking partners who are visionary and will bring new services to local residents."

Grants are made possible through WWCF's fundraiser, The Little Black Dress Party. After a postponing the event for two years, WWCF is eager to bring the event back and to restart their grant giving.

"Though we had to cancel all of our fundraising events in 2020 and 2021, we were able to provide emergency grants to organizations being impacted by COVID-19. That is something we were proud to be able to do but we are looking forward to being able to give again on a bigger scale. We are so excited to see what opportunities there are to better serve," continued Halverson.

Halverson noted that the organization is seeking new and creative programs that will have life-changing or life-saving impacts for residents. Applicants can be local nonprofits or those located anywhere in the U.S. The only stipulation is that the funds must go to serving residents of Okaloosa, Walton or Santa Rosa County. By encouraging nonprofits from anywhere to apply, the group hopes to bring new services to the area.
